Job Description Summary

The Associate Vice President (AVP) of Emerging Capabilities and Partnerships plays a pivotal role in driving innovation and fostering strategic partnerships within the company. You’ll be responsible for identifying new and emerging customer, technology, and business trends to drive the development of new enterprise capabilities and enterprise-wide partnerships. Additionally, you’ll lead the exploration, development, and execution of business use cases and experiments to leverage these emerging capabilities effectively. You’ll be responsible to identify partners as requested by the businesses that drive enterprise value. You’ll also conduct due diligence and execute on the partnership integration with other areas of Innovation. We’ll depend on you to understand the tech startup landscape that is developing and utilize new trends and capabilities that are creating value for Fortune 100 companies. You’ll increase awareness and improve our capability within the enterprise. Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner closely with Technology, Office of the Customer, and Corporate Strategy to execute new capabilities for the enterprise. Support the development of the emerging capabilities strategy and approach, ensuring alignment with overarching business objectives.

  • Define and create a strategic enterprise partnership agenda focusing on how and where new types of partners drive broad enterprise value through the lens of customer overlap and brand identity.

  • Create business development strategies that align with business priorities and cultivate a pipeline of specific target partners based on market opportunity, product readiness, business appetite, and partner readiness. Identify market gaps, target high-value segments, and structure the go-to-market strategy for these opportunities in alignment with the business segments.

  • Partner with Strategy and Finance to size opportunities and identify the resources needed to succeed in the market. Leverage competitive intelligence for short-term and long-term planning to ensure a competitive advantage in the market landscape.

  • Define and execute business use cases and experiments to validate the feasibility and value proposition.

  • Create processes, funding mechanisms, and metrics to highlight and outline the value driven by initiatives. Execute initiatives with rigor, emphasizing financial rigor and discipline to ensure optimal resource allocation and ROI.

  • Stay abreast of market dynamics, customer preferences, and technological advancements, including emerging trends, key players, and disruptive innovations, to identify emerging trends that present opportunities for the company's growth and innovation.

  • Lead a team of associates, providing support for their professional development and managing the performance of the team. Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture to drive results and achieve strategic objectives.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: This job reports to Leader, Emerging Capabilities, Strategic Innovation and Partnerships. Leads a team of 5-8 direct reports.

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, technology or related discipline; advanced degree preferred.

Experience: Typically, 10 or more years proven experience in innovation management, business development, and/or strategic partnerships with experience in creating new and innovative products, services, experiences, and/or businesses, or cross functional teams in corporations and/or processes. Broad-based exposure to the Financial Services Industry is desirable.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

Understands how to build and create new partnerships, and how to develop enterprise level capabilities from a nascent stage to maturity. Entrepreneurial spirit with demonstrated ability to navigate and be a voice of the future. Test and learn mindset. Goal oriented. Good understanding of trends and applicability to the Financial Services and P&C industries. Experienced in launching new capabilities. Able to prioritize and identify critical areas, metrics and is value driven. Demonstrated thought leader in the development of new out of the box solutions. Have a passion for changing the status quo, risk taking, influencing through collaboration and competence. Demonstrated ability to identify and capitalize on business opportunities through strategic partnerships.

If a Sales job, Sales Incentives, based on performance goals are possible in addition to this range.The national salary range for AVP, Emerging Capabilities & Partnerships : $159,000.00-$313,000.00The expected starting salary range for AVP, Emerging Capabilities & Partnerships : $167,000.00 - $279,000.00
