As a contracts administrator, you will be working with other contract administrators, senior contracts administrator, the contracts director, and Parallax clients. When working with your team you will be creating, coordinating, and managing contracts and subcontracts with a focus on reducing financial and operating risk.

In this position, you will not only be managing active contracts, but also performing both pre-and post-award contract, grant, and cooperative agreement activities supporting direct and indirect commercial and noncommercial efforts.

In addition to that, a typical day-in-the-life of a Parallax Contracts Administrator includes:

  • Managing all contract and financial assistance (grant and cooperative agreement) administration functions to ensure conformance with Parallax policy, procedures, and good business practices.
  • With support from the contracts manager, assuming the lead in resolving contractual problems with major clients by independently creating strategies for solution and negotiating settlements.
  • Ensuring compliance with terms and conditions, as well as, the compliance of Parallax subcontractors/sub-awardees.
  • Briefing program management on contractual non-technical requirements, including deliverables. Conducting initial contract kickoff meeting.
  • Completing bi-annual audit of all assigned contract records, conducting peer reviews of other contract team members to ensure avoidance of errors and omissions, and supporting third-party audits conducted by oversight agencies such as the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA).
  • Completing all actions required prior to award of contract, subcontract, grant, or cooperative agreement. This includes but is not limited to; supporting proposal responses, developing subcontractor RFP’s, conducting cost/price analysis, and supporting the negotiation of contractual terms and conditions.
  • Independently identifying process and policy improvement. Assisting with implementing positive change as an active team member. Conducting risk analysis and support the Contracts Manager in establishing policies and procedures to minimize company risk.

Ideally, you are looking for your next long-term challenge and have these skills:

  • US Citizenship.
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in business or related field with 2-5 years of contract experience.
  • General knowledge of the FAR, Defense Acquisition Regulations System (DFARS), and other agency supplements.
  • General knowledge of 2 CFR 200, Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards.
  • Must have general knowledge of Financial Assistance Mechanisms such as Grants, Cooperative Agreements, and other Cooperative Research & Development Agreements.
  • Must have a background which would not preclude a security clearance from being granted.

Furthermore, do you have, or want to develop these skills?

  • Experience with Research and Development (R&D) contracts.
  • A Professional Certification, such as National Contract Management Association (NCMA) CPCM, CFCM, or CCCM.
  • Experience working with non-profit organizations.
