Pay Range: $90,000-$120,000 base and up to $20,000 bonus
PTO Classification: S2

Position Overview
The Director of Finance and Administration is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the organization's finance, accounting, and administrative functions. This position plays a critical role in ensuring financial integrity, operational efficiency, and organizational scalability.
With a strong emphasis on finance and accounting, the Director will lead all financial operations, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls, while also overseeing HR and future accounting support staff. The role partners closely with executive leadership to support strategic decision-making, financial planning, and long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
Finance and Accounting Operations
- Manage accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records within accounting systems
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and financial statement preparation
- Manage tax-related activities, including monthly sales tax filings and coordination with external tax preparers
- Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and operational efficiency
- Perform financial analysis, including margin analysis, variance analysis, and employee cost/burden rate evaluations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive financial performance, identify growth opportunities, and mitigate risks
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, including annual budget development, monthly budget reviews, and cash flow management
- Monitor financial performance, identify risks, and provide actionable insights to support executive decision-making
- Implement and enforce expense policies and financial best practices across the organization
People Leadership
- Oversee HR function to ensure alignment with organizational goals and compliance requirements
- Provide leadership guidance on employee relations, talent management, compensation, and benefits administration
- Support workforce planning and recruiting strategy in partnership with department leaders
- Ensure effective execution of HR processes, including payroll and compliance
- Partner cross-functionally to support organizational performance, culture, and growth initiatives
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Office Administration
- Lead administrative and office operations, ensuring efficient management of facilities, supplies, and vendor relationships
- Provide leadership and direction for office activities, including project coordination, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and employee experience
- Oversee vendor relationships and service contracts, maintaining proper documentation and driving cost efficiency, service quality, and risk management
- Drive process improvements across the administrative department to support scalability and efficiency
- Manage and develop current and future direct reports
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field
- 5-10 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or operational leadership roles
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting practices
- Experience managing full-cycle accounting operations, including month-end close and financial statements
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with team members.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA, CMA, or similar professional certification
- Experience managing direct reports and developing teams
- Experience in a small to mid-sized or high-growth company environment
- Exposure to audit coordination, external tax partners, or financial compliance reviews
- Working knowledge of payroll processes, benefits administration, and employment compliance
