Essential Job Functions
- Reconciles and audits health and supplemental benefit insurance vendor invoices to ensure accurate payments, credits and adjustments.
- Provide customer service support to internal and external customers on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
- Performs daily benefit processing in an accurate and timely manner including enrollments, COBRA, terminations, status changes, beneficiary designations and audits, short- and long-term disability, accident insurance and other vendor portals.
- Processes bi-weekly payroll benefit adjustments.
- Distributes benefit enrollment materials and determines eligibility.
- Enters COBRA qualifying event information with the third-party vendor.
- Assists vendor relations, coordinating and tracking wellness initiatives and campaigns, including COTA's biometric screening program;
- Administers COTA's lifestyle reimbursement program.
- Assists with creating employee communications to help employees understand benefit offerings provided by the company.
- Conducts audits of benefit packages and policies to ensure that company processes are compliant.
- Assists with employee data auditing and reporting.
- Assists with coordinating the open enrollment process.
- Utilizes COTA's HRIS system to create plans, enter & maintain employee benefit selection information, and track & report employee arrearages.
- Participates and leads in benefit and wellness educational opportunities including new hire orientation, open enrollment, etc.
- Creates routine correspondence including benefit notifications, benefit verification letters, etc. All notifications are processed quickly and accurately.
- Act as liaison between employees and insurance providers
- Support human resources functions in the areas of for leaves of absence, DOT administration, HRIS data entry, and FMLA, etc.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Requires a bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or a related field and three-to-five (3-5) years of experience in Human Resources, talent acquisition, and/or customer service. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered. HR experience in a union environment preferred.
- PHR/SPHR/SHRM certification preferred.
