About the Role
As a Senior AI Engineer, you will work in a local and distributed team building the next generation of CHAMP’s CADE (Compliance Automated Decisioning Engine) product. CADE’s goal is to revolutionize the processing of DMV transactions, exceeding industry standards for transaction processing quality and cycle time through the secure and efficient application of cloud-native AI tools and technologies. This is a highly challenging role working with emergent Agentic platforms and requires a voracious intellectual curiosity, a drive to deliver high-quality scalable solutions, and the ability to learn and apply new knowledge quickly while meeting delivery goals. Senior Engineers are expected and required to participate in enterprise architectural decisions, implementation architectural decisions, business requirement evaluation, team processes, continuous improvement efforts, and the daily work of building the solution with hands-on development.
Responsibilities
Design complex AI-driven workflows and functionsTranslate use cases, user stories, and requirements into technical designsDesign, implement, and deliver high-quality technical solutions that are scalable, observable, extensible, and maintainableDesign and implement effective error handling mechanismsImplement new features while continuously improving code qualityIntegrate and consume internal and external services via MCP, REST, and SOAPCreate and maintain system documentationContribute to code reviewsCoach developers on best practicesMaintain code standards/styleLead a team of engineers on feature projects
Qualifications
5+ years designing, testing, and implementing complex technical solutionsHands-on and practical experience with AI tools and technologiesDeep understanding of production application operational requirementsExperience mentoring/coaching other software engineersExcellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams, including Enterprise Architecture, Product Management, QA, and more.

Pay range and compensation package
The expected salary range for this position is $120,000 to $160,000 annually. This is a good faith estimate, and final compensation may vary based on experience and skills.
