Position Summary:

Franklin University, a private, independent, accredited, not-for-profit University located in Columbus, Ohio invites applicants for its Purchasing, Mail, & Print Services Specialist position. The Purchasing, Mail, & Print Services Specialist is a generalist position encompassing duties within all three disciplines. The Specialist will shift between the three disciplines as business needs dictate and will be responsible for providing a high level of service and expertise to internal and external customers on an ongoing basis.

This role will work an onsite schedule.

Duties and Responsibilities:

General/Purchasing Duties

  • Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance on print and mail equipment
  • Answer and screen calls as they come in on departmental phone line
  • Reply to communications via email for shipping, mail, and print inquiries/requests
  • Maintain inventory of paper, print and mail supplies, and warehoused items
  • Order paper, mail, and office supplies, as needed
  • Perform basic filing of purchase order, contract, and insurance documents

Mail Duties

  • Receive and process incoming and outgoing packages from USPS, FedEx and UPS
  • Receive and process incoming and outgoing USPS mail
  • Process and prepare bulk non-profit mailings utilizing bulk mail software and equipment
  • Deliver bulk mailings, USPS mail, and packages to end-users or facilities, as needed
  • Maintain the Mail Service Center in a clean and organized fashion

Print Duties

  • Aid in operation of digital presses, large format printers, bindery and finishing equipment
  • Print and finish large format printing including mounted boards, banners, and posters
  • Inspect print materials for defects and quality assurance
  • Package and label finished jobs for shipment or delivery
  • Deliver finished jobs to internal and external customers, as needed

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate clearly & effectively in-person, on the phone, and via email
  • Ability to work independently in a deadline-oriented environment and prioritize tasks
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy loads (up to 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation

Preferred Skills and Characteristics:

  • Basic knowledge of printing & mail processes and equipment
  • Prior experience working in a customer service environment

Additional Notes:

  • The Purchasing, Mail, & Print Services Specialist will drive a University vehicle to carry out responsibilities of the position
  • As such, a satisfactory motor vehicle report will be required at time of hire and throughout the length of employment with the University
