Franklin University, a private, independent, accredited, not-for-profit University located in Columbus, Ohio invites applicants for its Adjunct Faculty-Corporate Finance position. The Adjunct Faculty role includes primary responsibility for providing quality instruction and maintaining a positive learning environment with an emphasis placed on teaching, supporting and evaluating students. Assigned courses may be for face to face or online instruction.
Financial decisions made at the higher levels of a business organization can have far-reaching effects. Intended to achieve firm operating goals and create shareholder value, they must be made judiciously, with a thorough understanding of all the factors involved. In this course, you will learn to apply the analytical techniques required for developing effective and workable financial solutions at the executive level. You will gain an overall understanding of the workings of the U.S. financial system. In addition, you will study the concepts of financial risk, return, and the valuation of bonds, common and preferred stock, cost of capital, capital budgeting, capital structure, and the evaluation of investment opportunities.
This course will be offered in both online and face-to-face formats.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teaches courses in discipline
- Maintains attendance records, determines and submits grades with established timeframes established by the University
- Creates a welcoming, inclusive and productive learning environment
- Supports the resolution of student issues related to course instruction
- Provides feedback on what is working and what is not with the course
- Participates in all department meetings and required training
- Participates in personal professional development
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Lead Faculty
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- A doctorate in International Business, Marketing, Management, Leadership or Strategic Management and at least 18 graduate credit hours in International Business, Marketing, Management, Leadership or Strategic Management from a regionally accredited college or university
- 5+ years of organizational or consulting experience at the middle management level or above
- 3 years of experience teaching in higher education
- Commitment to collaborative & collegiate relationships
- Maintain confidential and sensitive information
- Knowledge of higher education regulations, compliance and accrediting agencies
- Computer proficiency
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate in a professional manner and work effectively with faculty, staff, students and members of the professional community
- Excellent multi-tasking skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills and Characteristics:
- DBA or Ph.D. in International Business, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Leadership, Management, or Strategic Management
- 10+ years in international consulting or mid-level to strategic level management with responsibilities for international functions involving strategic planning, budgeting, goal setting, evaluation, problem solving, performance improvement, and relationship building
- Demonstrated ability to apply general management concepts across various organizational contexts, industries, and national cultures
- Working knowledge of systems theory and performance improvement applications
- Located in Columbus, OH or surrounding area
