Franklin University seeks a dynamic and experienced Dean of Global Programs to lead and expand our international initiatives. This leadership role is integral to enhancing the university’s global reputation, fostering international partnerships, and ensuring operational excellence in global programs. The Dean will oversee daily departmental operations, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and drive strategic initiatives to further internationalize the university’s academic offerings. The ideal candidate should be local or willing to relocate and have the ability to be on campus to support departmental initiatives, foster collaboration, and participate in university events.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Global Programs and Strategic Initiatives, the Dean of Global Programs will play a critical role in advancing the university’s international initiatives by traveling globally to represent the institution at conferences, meetings, and partnership-building events. They will actively arrange and attend on-campus meetings with international partners and prospective clients to cultivate relationships and identify new opportunities. Working closely with faculty, administrators, and other university constituents, the Dean will ensure that international programs align with the institution’s strategic vision. They will contribute to the development and implementation of new global programs, providing valuable operational insights and leadership. Additionally, they will assist in expanding global programs, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring they align with the university’s overarching objectives. The Dean will also serve as a key point of contact for emergencies, offering crisis management support for international students and programs while fostering their seamless integration into the university community. Managing the annual budget and revenue forecasts for the Global Programs department, the Dean will will prepare and present monthly financial and performance reports to senior management, maintaining transparency and accountability in operations.

The ideal candidate for this role will hold a doctoral degree in international education, educational administration, or a related field, with 3-5 years of experience managing international programs in higher education. They should possess strong project management skills, enabling them to oversee complex global initiatives while effectively coordinating program operations, budgeting, and event planning. Fluency in a second language or significant international experience is highly desirable, as is a proven ability to establish and maintain international partnerships. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are essential for engaging with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, administrators, and global partners. The candidate must demonstrate expertise in financial management and strategic planning, ensuring alignment with institutional goals. As a strategic visionary, they will proactively identify opportunities for global engagement and program growth while serving as an inclusive leader dedicated to fostering diversity, equity, and cross-cultural collaboration. The ideal candidate will also be adaptable and resilient, capable of navigating dynamic challenges in international education, and financially savvy, with a strong aptitude for budgeting and resource management.
