Franklin University has multiple part-time student positions in the Learning Commons working up to 19 hours per week. These positions provide in-person services to our students, staff, and faculty during the Learning Commons open hours, including evenings until 6 pm. Additionally, applicants must be enrolled in Franklin University classes to apply for this position.

Learning Commons Student Assistants perform daily opening and closing procedures for Learning Commons, assist customers with locating items and checking books in and out, schedule meeting room reservations, answer telephone questions and troubleshoot printer and copy machine problems. Additionally, they help with the department's digitization needs and collection development projects as needed.

The successful candidate will possess outstanding customer service skills, innovative ideas, and have demonstrated problem-solving skills. Effective oral and written communication skills are a key element of this role, and working within a multi-tasked team environment is required. Must be proficient with the Internet and Microsoft Office, with an intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word.

The candidate must possess a strong customer-centered philosophy and understand and agree with Franklin's relationship management principles and University values.
