Why join Hyland?

Hyland is a global software company that builds enterprisescale products.

Here’s what usually matters most to engineers who join us:

  • Longterm, meaningful products

  • High engineering standards - and a mindset of continuously striving for meaningful, practical processes rather than process for the sake of process.

  • Real trust: flexibility, autonomy, no micromanagement

  • Strong sense of ownership - we value engineers who are proactive, engaged, and take responsibility for what they build and improve.

  • Environment driven by initiative - your ideas matter, and you’re encouraged to influence how things are done, not just execute tasks.

  • Investment in growth - learning is part of the job, not an “extra”

This is a place where experienced engineers have space to think, not just deliver tickets.

What you’ll be doing

• Developing backend services in Java, following solid engineering principles
• Improving existing code through refactoring and architectural enhancements
• Writing automated tests as a natural part of development
• Contributing to CI/CD pipelines with focus on automation, security and performance
• Reviewing code and sharing feedback within the team
• Working with cloudnative solutions on AWS/Azure
• Supporting troubleshooting and resolving moderately complex production issues
• Translating business requirements into clean, maintainable technical solutions

What we’re looking for

• Handson experience with Java (other languages welcome, Java is key here)
• Familiarity with Bash or Python
• Experience building and running software in the cloud (AWS/Azure)
• Familiarity with eventdriven systems (Kafka, SNS/SQS or similar)
• Experience with containers and platforms like Docker / Kubernetes
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and InfrastructureasCode concepts
• Interest in performance, scalability and observability
• Experience working with automated testing and continuous integration
• Experience with OpenSearch or a similar search engine would be beneficial
• Comfortable collaborating with engineers, tech leads and architects
• Proactive, engaged mindset - you take ownership of your work, think beyond assigned tasks, and actively contribute ideas and improvements
• English at B2+ level, used in daily communication
