Lead Product UX Designer – Healthcare
Work Model: Remote – Core hours 12 PM to 8 PM IST
About the Role
As a Lead Healthcare Experience Designer at Hyland, you'll significantly shape our healthcare portfolio spanning back office, payer, clinical, enterprise imaging, and radiology. You'll thrive in complex environments, proactively identify opportunities for greater product cohesion, and take initiative to build patterns and systems that scale across teams and products. You'll partner with a sharp, collaborative group of designers, product managers, and engineers who are creative, thoughtful, and deeply passionate about their craft.
This is a remote-first role with occasional in-office days as needed for candidates based in or near Hyderabad or Kolkata. Some travel to the US or Europe may be required.
Your Role Responsibilities — Here's What You'll Do
- Partner with senior leaders to shape platform direction, prioritize work, and align design decisions around short- and long-term outcomes.
- Lead product discovery alongside cross-functional stakeholders, identifying gaps in understanding, strategizing activities to build clarity, and driving consensus.
- Design scalable systems — creating patterns, workflows, and interaction models that hold up across teams, products, roles, and edge cases.
- Drive accessibility as a first-class requirement, ensuring experiences meet WCAG 2.2 AA standards by partnering with accessibility experts and engineering teams.
- Provide annotated design specifications and documentation that detail interaction behaviors and acceptance criteria, enabling efficient and accurate developer implementation.
- Lead critiques, mentor and coach team members, and model inclusive, constructive collaboration — helping teams deliver high-quality, consistent, and easy-to-use experiences through shared best practices.
Technology Tools
- Product Design, Figma, Material Design 3, Angular Material
Role Essentials — What You Bring
- 8+ years of product design experience delivering complex enterprise software with consumer-grade usability and polish, backed by strong examples of shipped work and measurable impact.
- Proven accessibility expertise, including delivery of products meeting WCAG 2.1 or 2.2 AA success criteria and collaboration with accessibility specialists.
- Design system fluency, with experience applying and extending component systems with strong judgment around consistency, scalability, and component use.
- Proficiency with Figma, with a track record of producing interactive prototypes and clear specs that enable testing, stakeholder buy-in, and ease of implementation within Agile product delivery teams.
- Strong product judgment with a proven ability to navigate tradeoffs and deliver experiences that are scalable, supportable, and efficient to build.
What We'd Like to See
- Experience designing AI-enabled products or model-driven experiences, with an understanding of key considerations including transparency, control, safety, bias, and quality.
- Deep expertise in Material Design 3 and/or Angular Material, with strong experience in responsive and adaptive layout design within Material Design-based ecosystems.
- Platform and systems design experience, including designing shared capabilities or patterns used across multiple products, teams, or portals.
- Proven ability to lead workshops and presentations, facilitating sessions and communicating design direction to product, engineering, and senior leadership audiences.
- Research-informed practice, with demonstrated skill in translating qualitative and quantitative insights into flows, prototypes, and iterative product improvements.
