📍 Location: Remote – India 🏢 Work Arrangement: Remote

About the Role

We're looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Treasury & Payroll Specialist to lead the administration of Hyland's payroll programs and guide a team of payroll professionals through the complexities of domestic and international payroll processing. In this role, you'll ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all payroll operations while serving as a trusted subject matter expert and people leader.

You'll bring deep payroll expertise, a sharp eye for regulatory and tax compliance, and the interpersonal skills to coach and develop your team. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, take pride in getting the details right, and are passionate about continuous improvement and professional growth — we'd love to hear from you.

Your Role Responsibilities? Here's What You'll Do.

  • Coordinate and oversee the day-to-day activities of the payroll team, leading the administration of various payroll programs to ensure full compliance with established guidelines, processes, procedures, and government requirements.
  • Facilitate and lead payroll processing for multiple countries and/or regions, ensuring adds, changes, and separations are accurately reflected while maintaining current knowledge of regulatory, legal, labor law, and tax issues impacting the business.
  • Provide feedback to employees and management; direct day-to-day team activities and prioritize projects, requests, and tasks to ensure team members have clear direction on objectives and deliverables.
  • Contribute to and manage an approved budget; collaborate with team members in the creation and coordination of mutual goals across payroll and finance functions.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex payroll issues; provide guidance, resolve issues as necessary, remove obstacles for the team, and proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and greater operational efficiency.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop team members through professional development activities — including performance assessments, feedback, career planning, and training — while operating as a thought leader who contributes to the overall growth and quality of the department.

Technology Tools

  • Microsoft Tools & Products (Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Payroll Platforms (Workday, ADP, SAP or equivalent)
  • Data Analytics & Reporting Tools
  • Presentation & Productivity Software

Role Essentials

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; significant experience in the payroll field with advanced payroll certification and strong knowledge of payroll administration, tax, and compliance fundamentals.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills; strong knowledge of regulatory, legal, labor law, and tax issues with the ability to implement and maintain compliance practices across multiple countries and regions.
  • Excellent leadership, sound judgment, and business acumen; proven ability to coach, mentor, and provide timely, constructive feedback to team members to support their professional growth.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with discretion and tact; strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain rapport across teams and professionalism with those outside the department.
  • Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills; strong facilitation and project management capabilities; proficiency with Microsoft tools including Outlook and productivity platforms; demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and care.

What We'd Like to See

  • Experience with payroll platforms such as Workday, ADP, SAP, or equivalent enterprise payroll management systems.
  • Experience processing international payrolls across multiple countries and regions, with a strong understanding of global payroll compliance requirements and local labor law nuances.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and lead process improvement initiatives that drive greater efficiency, accuracy, and scalability within payroll operations.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with a strong customer service orientation and the proven ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • A passion for staying current professionally — with technology curiosity and aptitude — and experience developing and delivering engaging presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
