The Ohio Department of Transportation, District 9, is now accepting applications for Summer Laborers for the following counties: Adams, Brown, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence, Pike, Ross & Scioto. These are seasonal temporary positions with an anticipated start date of May 4, 2026, and end date of September 4, 2026. There are multiple positions, your application will be considered for all positions.

2026 Summer Laborer (Multiple Counties)

What You Will Do:

• Flag/traffic control for highway maintenance

• Drive pickup truck to set out/pick up signs & follow mowing crew

• Roadside litter pickup, clean &/or wash vehicles & equipment

• Clean/hose down garage areas

• Use weed eater to trim around buildings, fences, etc.

• Help clean up roadsides when work crews are cutting brush/tree trimming

• Answer phone &/or radio when clerk is unavailable

This position is overtime eligible based FLSA Standards.

This position is unclassified per Section 124.11(A)(29).

The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check.
