Job Description

Surveyor 1 or Surveyor 2, PN 20060636

The selected candidate will be placed in the classification in which they meet minimum qualifications.

What You Will Do:

· You will work alongside ODOT professional surveyors & engineers.

· You will receive training in operation & maintenance of survey instruments.

· You will receive hands-on transportation training & experience needed to further your career as a surveyor with ODOT.

· You will conduct survey projects under the direction of a licensed surveyor & assist project surveyor or engineer on projects.

Qualifications

Surveyor 1:

Accepted for Fundamental of Surveying examination (F.S.) by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; valid deriver’s license.

-OR Bachelor’s degree; valid driver’s license; working towards obtaining the required semester hours of surveying courses that meets the NCEES Surveying Education Standard as approved by the Ohio Board of Professional Engineers & Surveyors.

Surveyor 2:

Valid certificate of Surveyor Intern issued or accepted as equivalent by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 12 months experience as Surveyor 1, 85561; valid driver’s license.

-OR Valid certificate as Surveyor Intern issued or accepted as equivalent by the Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors & 12 months experience surveying-related experience; valid driver’s license.

Supplemental Information

Valid driver license required for this position.

This position is overtime eligible based on FLSA Standards.

All bargaining unit new hires must serve a one (1) year probationary period.

Position will be filled pursuant to the provision of the OCSEA/AFSCME Contract.

The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check. An individual assessment of an applicant's prior criminal convictions will be made before excluding an applicant from consideration.
