Job Description
Serves as an unclassified employee pursuant to Section 3301.13 R.C. and performs the following duties:
Ideal Candidate resides in Cuyahoga County and will provide support to the East Cleveland City School District.
Builds capacity in urban school districts (Akron, Canton, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, East Cleveland, Lima, Toledo, Youngstown, and Zanesville) with a focus on improving outcomes for students with disabilities by performing the following activities, including but not limited to:

Assists in the design and implementation of effective instructional practices by providing targeted support and technical assistance through onsite visits to improve educational services and outcomes in Ohio’s urban school districts
- Works intensively onsite with districts to support the development, alignment, and implementation of policies, procedures, programming, and improvement plans tailored to identified needs
- Analyzes and interprets multiple data sources to assess progress, inform decision-making, and adjust supports to strengthen student outcomes
- Monitors and verifies compliance with IDEA and the Operating Standards for Ohio’s Schools Serving Children with Disabilities, ensuring alignment between compliance requirements and instructional practice
- Collaborates with internal and external partners to coordinate supports, reduce duplication, and ensure coherence across Department initiatives and district priorities
- Serves as a central point of coordination for supports and system-level improvement efforts, ensuring alignment to statewide priorities, including the 11 District Plan, and that work is prioritized and responsive to district needs over time
- Establishes and maintains ongoing communication and structured follow-up with district leadership to monitor implementation, address barriers, and support continuous improvement
- Develops and disseminates technical assistance resources that support students with disabilities and other at-risk learners in accessing and progressing in the general education curriculum
- Utilizes monitoring and compliance information to inform supports, identify areas of need, and guide district improvement efforts
- Assists districts with self-review summary reports and the development and completion of Corrective Action Plans and Improvement Plans as required by Special Education Profiles
- Identifies emerging needs, implementation challenges, and gaps in practice, and works with districts and partners to adjust strategies and supports accordingly
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Unusual Working Conditions:
Requires travel throughout the State of Ohio and may require overnight stays. Must be willing and able to secure a valid driver’s license or supply reliable transportation.

Qualifications
6 years of experience in any combination of the following areas:
- Education administration
- Special education
- Education experience in an urban setting
