Job Description

What You’ll Do

  • Clean & maintain living facilities, dining areas, restrooms &/or offices (for example, dust, mop, sweep, buff & wax floors
  • Scrub sinks, toilets, countertops, walls & ceilings
  • Dust & clean furniture & equipment
  • Empty trash
  • Wash windows
  • Polish mirrors & glass
  • Vacuum & shampoo carpet
  • replenishes soap, paper towels & toilet paper
  • Performs miscellaneous related duties:
    • Remove snow &/or ice from sidewalk
    • Remove litter from grounds
    • Replace light bulbs
    • Order &/or stock supplies
    • Secure doors &/or windows
    • Move furniture
    • Sort &/or wash linens

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction, & formal education in reading & speaking common English vocabulary.
  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

In accordance with Section 124.11(B)(2), revised code, Director of Administrative Services has determined this classification to be unskilled labor class & therefore exempt from written examination.

Supplemental Information
  • This is a part-time intermittent position, and is therefore limited to 1,000 hours per fiscal year (July 1 – June 30).

  • Hourly wage will be paid at step 1, with no opportunities for a pay increase.
  • The final candidate selected for the position will be required to undergo a criminal background check. Rule 5123-2-02, “Background Investigations for Employment,” outlines disqualifying offenses that will preclude an applicant from being employed by the Department of Developmental Disabilities.
  • The final applicant selected for this position will be required to submit to urinalysis prior to the appointment to test for illegal drug use. An applicant with a positive test result will not be offered employment.
