What does a Program Administrator 1 do?

As Program Administrator 1, you will provide administrative and operational support for training coordination, compliance tracking, program reporting, onboarding activities, and facility-wide initiatives. This role works closely with leadership, staff, and multiple departments to support daily operations and ensure organizational readiness and compliance.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Coordinate and track required staff trainings including CPR, Lifeguard, Aegis, OhioLearn, EHR, and MUI/UI training
  • Maintain training, compliance, and operational records and documentation
  • Conduct onboarding follow-ups and support employee retention initiatives
  • Support PolicyTech, OhioLearn, EHR, UIR, and other program systems
  • Create and distribute reports and maintain operational tracking systems
  • Administrative liaison between program areas, staff and leadership regarding training, reporting, scheduling and operational processes
  • Track resident and programmatic information including admissions, discharges, and guardianship data
  • Assist with audits, surveys, and compliance readiness activities
  • Coordinate travel arrangements, meetings, conference room scheduling, and campus events
  • Support staff appreciation initiatives, fundraising activities, and facility-wide communication efforts
  • Provide administrative support to Programming, HR, and facility leadership
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion

Qualifications

Completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, management science or public administration AND 12 months' training or 12 months' experience. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position which involved limited research & public contact. If assigned to operate vehicles regulated by Section 4506.01 of Revised Code, applicants must also have valid commercial driver's license.

OR

Completion of undergraduate core program in academic field commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description on file AND 12 months' training or 12 months' experience in supervisory, administrative, managerial &/or staff position which involved limited research & public contact. If assigned to operate vehicles regulated by Section 4506.01 of Revised Code, applicants must also have valid commercial driver's license.

OR

36 months' training or 36 months' experience in business administration, management science or public administration. If assigned to operate vehicles regulated by Section 4506.01 of Revised Code, applicants must also have valid commercial driver's license.

OR

Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

  • Hourly wage will be paid at step 1, unless otherwise specified by collective bargaining agreement or rules outlined in the ORC/OAC.
  • The final candidate selected for the position will be required to undergo a criminal background check. Rule 5123-2-02, “Background Investigations for Employment,” outlines disqualifying offenses that will preclude an applicant from being employed by the Department of Developmental Disabilities.
  • The final applicant selected for this position will be required to submit to urinalysis prior to the appointment to test for illegal drug use. An applicant with a positive test result will not be offered employment.
