-Strong executive presence and experience presenting to leaders at different levels including C-Suite required.

Job Description Summary:

Utilizes strong core marketing competencies to lead and/or assist in the development and implementation of Protected Retirement Solutions business and marketing strategy and action plans. Leads and/or assists in the development and execution of plans that help support the growth of this newer business, especially supporting the Protected Retirement distribution team and associated Sales teams. Develops and executes on marketing plans of mid to high complexity. Forecasts future marketing needs, assesses related audience trends and determines the implications to marketing plans.

Job Description

Retirement Solutions Marketing Growth & Transformation team partners closely with the Retirement Solutions (RS) business to acquire, grow and retain plan sponsors and grow participant assets. Protected Retirement is a large initiative that will launch new product solutions, tools/calculators, and capabilities, in addition to promote existing solutions and capabilities. The Consultant position will own a critical role in achieving high level of adoption across all our audiences: Consultants, Advisors, Plan Sponsors, and Participants. Working closely with Distribution, Sales Enablement, Legal, Compliance and Business Development as well as team members within the RP Marketing Teams and Enterprise Marketing organization. This position will develop and execute marketing plans to drive awareness, consideration, and action with each of the audiences for the 5 Protected Retirement Income solutions. This role will require a high level of communication and appetite for testing and learning as they will be working with lots of internal partners and external product partners.

This role will need the following characteristics/competencies:

Strong relationship building is needed as this role will partner with both internal (Sales, Sales Enablement, Business Development) and external partners develop and execute on the Protected Retirement Income solutions marketing plans. Some examples will include web pages, videos, print tactics, educational material, webinars/presentations, etc.

Project planning and attention to detail will be important for this role as it is a fast paced, continually evolving environment. Working on several projects with several outside partners requires a need for lots of communication and documentation to be sure all parties are aligned on priorities, process, timelines, tactics, and messaging.

Appetite to learn and self-starter because these are new solutions or investment options in the Retirement Plans market. Constantly learning ways to approach each solution and/or audiences.

Agility to work through obstacles, evaluate options and recommend solutions. Flexibility to work in a constantly changing environment that continues to evolve and grow.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Developing a holistic launch and promotional plans for the Protected Retirement Solutions products, working with the product partners.

    • Build awareness, consideration and action tactics for each product, including associated tools/calculators

    • Maintain/enhance existing product and promotional tactics

  • Consulting and launching tools/calculators associated with each of the In Plan Guarantee products

    • Consultant on the Participant Experience on how these tools will work along with the product promotions/launches

  • Measuring the success of the tactics associated with the products working with other teams.

  • Understanding the product details to create effective materials for each of the audiences

  • Learning the market of Protected Retirement Solutions to help provide insights around Thought Leadership topics that would help build awareness and consideration

JOB SUMMARY: Plans and executes activities and projects that directly support the implementation and optimization of an organization s go-to-market resources as part of the business plan. This may include but is not limited to: selection of best channel or combination of channels to sell a product, marketing campaigns creative services needs, affinity marketing relationships, local market execution and interaction with sales. Responsible for recommending the best channels or combination of channels to sell a product, (e. g. telephone, web, vendor/affinity, exclusive/independent/direct/ agency sales, etc. ) based on the needs and buying behavior of the target market.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to Manager/Director/AVP. This is an individual contributor role but may have direct reports based on organizational structure. May also be responsible for virtual/project teams.


CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


1. Identifies and recommends the pursuit of new/emerging channels, resources and intermediaries and develops integrated strategies, plans and programs to leverage these opportunities.


2. Identifies resources and skills necessary to support the channel strategy and achieve product sales in the most productive manner.


3. Identifies new/emerging channels, resources and intermediaries and develops integrated strategies, plans and programs to leverage these opportunities.


4. Researches and recommends the appropriate mix of distribution channels designed to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of coverage in the marketplace and optimize the go-to-market resources. Develops go-to-market, execution plans, and channel marketing support plans.


5. Aids other professionals in the marketing function as well as other functions (e.g. sales, legal, business practices, communications, etc.) in understanding, collecting and coordinating channels marketing requirements.


6. Projects or forecasts future distribution channels needs. Evaluates impact on strategic distribution channels planning objectives and strategies.


7. Leads a project team that plans for the effective development and implementation of longer term distribution channel projects. Requires work prioritization, forecasting, scheduling and coordinating resources within an assigned project.


8. May have functional management responsibilities.


9. Performs other duties as assigned.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing or a closely related field with master level studies preferred.

Experience: Typically 7 or more years of related experience in identifying business opportunities, developing and executing marketing campaigns. Experience with developing channel relationships, financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.

Knowledge: Strong knowledge of the principles of marketing campaign development and execution. Knowledge of current practices in managing marketing campaigns. Working knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis and sales.

Skills/ Competencies: Persuasive communication and presentation skills (verbal and written). Ability to build relationships and network across organizations. Ability to multi-task. Ability to review research studies, communicate research findings and make market recommendations based on findings. Develop and negotiate contracts/service agreements with internal/external contacts. Manage market planning projects, and manage relationships. Ability to manage and prioritize projects. Ability to function independently or in a team environment. Ability to operate a personal computer and advanced business software.
