Financial Business Advisor: Personal Lines Reporting & Analysis Hub

The Personal Lines Reporting & Analysis team is responsible for synthesizing and analyzing results to drive insights, planning & forecasting, and continued support and adoption of automation and transformation initiatives. We’re committed to driving business outcomes through close collaboration with the business unit CFO team, and work cross-functionally across finance and non-finance teams.

Our Vision:

  • Empower Business Outcomes: Monitor and analyze BU financial performance, propose insightful commentary, and collaborate with CFO team.

  • Monitoring, Analysis, and Insights: Actively monitor results for trends and responsible for the centralized P&L story.

  • Standardization & Automation: Consistent, accurate reports and materials that drive faster and better insights and equip CFO Teams and Business to drive business outcomes.

  • Planning & Forecasting: Support the transformation of planning and forecasting processes, adopting new tools and methodologies to align with transformation efforts and business needs. Partner across finance and non-finance teams in development of forecast and plan.

  • Foster Collaboration: Maintain strong partnerships across Finance and Business communities, ensuring alignment and collective success.

Together, we will perform and transform, leveraging opportunities for improvement and automation to achieve excellence in financial reporting and analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in financial analysis, planning, forecasting, and project leadership OR P&C/Personal Lines insurance OR P&C/Personal Lines actuarial experience.

  • Experience in driving organizational change and/or finance transformation.

  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with Power BI, Hyperion, Smart View, and financial modeling.

Role Details:

  • Hybrid role with 2-3 in-office days per week based in Columbus, OH. Current remote associates will also be considered.

  • This role will be staffed at the G3 internal pay band.

  • Need for someone comfortable with driving efficiencies, improvements, and embracing transformation shifts.

As an Advisor, you'll provide financial consultation, planning and analysis for a major business operations (state, product, business unit, etc.). This includes coordinating the development of operational forecasts and budgets and reporting on financial income, loss and expense measures. You'll serve as a key member of leadership team.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to the Director/Officer. This is an individual contributor role.

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Undergraduate studies in finance, economics, accounting or statistics; advanced degree in financial field is desirable.

License/Certification/Designation: CPA preferred.

Experience: Typically, eight or more years financial experience including financial analysis, planning, forecasting, actuarial or auditing. Insurance industry background desirable. Prefer at least three years project leadership, management or supervisor experience.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: In-depth knowledge of statistical/financial analysis, financial statement and budget preparation. Knowledge of GAAP and statutory accounting practices and insurance/financial services business requirements. Project management concepts and techniques. Prefer familiarity with specific state, product or business unit operations.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and HR Business Partner.
