Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Business Lead to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years of prior experience with ALIP OR another enterprise business configuration-based platform. As an ALIP Business Lead, you will be responsible for delivery of new features and capability delivery to support the Annuity Modernization project, support business architect in the solutioning, and collaborating closely with program leadership and other technology delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead requirement gathering, analysis, design, and documentation of business functions.
  • Break down Agile features into stories to support IX, QE, BC, and PC work.
  • Drive client functionality discussions to identify requirements and gaps.
  • Provide consultative support to clients by educating them on ALIP functionalities.
  • Collaborate with Base Product Management and Product Engineering to ensure base enhancements meet client needs.
  • Directly or Indirectly lead a team of ALIP business configuration analysts
  • Mentor and train new/junior business configuration analysts
  • Assign and manage day-to-day tasks for business analysis deliverables.
  • Ensure high-quality BA deliverables on implementation projects.
  • Implement best practices for business configuration analysts
  • Work closely with other workstream leads to ensure consistency in solutions and capture dependencies.
  • Update and review BRDs, business templates, artifacts, JIRA stories, and track sprint completion.
  • Conduct BRD or Agile feature/story walkthroughs and resolve functional queries.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3-5 years of prior experience on ALIP or business configuration platforms implementing enterprise solutions
  • Proven expertise in communication and expectation management.
  • Deep understanding of Annuity functional areas from New Business to Post Issue covering the entire lifecycle of a policy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience directly or indirectly leading associates

Ideal Skills and Experience:

  • Developed complex business designs independently implemented via config.
  • Experience in requirement gathering, analysis, and design across all process areas.
  • Worked on all functional areas for a policy lifecycle

As the Sr Consultant, you'll be responsible for working with stakeholders to deliver solutions that meet the desired business outcomes, measured by a set of KPIs. You will be the product and journey owner with end-to-end accountability for prioritizing and maintaining a holistic product backlog (including new build, enhancement work, technology driven work etc).

You will also be a member of the agile team who serve as the customer proxy and serves as the business representative for the agile team that will delivery unique customer value across multiple lines of business. You will need to discover, refine, maintain and deliver a product and journey that addresses user needs while creating the right user experience. You will need in-depth knowledge of business functions and processes with a passion for exceeding customer expectations and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to execute on strategic vision/roadmap. Prioritizes and maintains a holistic product backlog including new build, enhancement work and technology driven work.

  • Demonstrates a deep understanding of what we do in our business, how people interact with us, what friction points exist and how we can resolve them.

  • Provides critical input to developers and agile teams serving as the liaison to ensure the business point of view is captured.

  • Accountable for managing product backload across all work to meet expected delivery outcomes.

  • Understands overall pain points and roadblocks encountered by the journey team to remove barriers to ensure progress is not halted or delayed.

  • Leads or participates in various meetings focused on driving short term outcomes and plans.

  • Provides mentorship, training and coaching to less experiences Business Capability Owners to foster a culture of learning and growth.

  • Participates in planning and execution of user acceptance testing, triages issues and works with development team to resolve technically complex issues requiring alignment across multiple business partners and subject areas.

  • Defines journey vision and roadmap, working with key business partners, to ensure continued investment in the experience and clear identification of desired outcomes and tracking realized benefits.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to AVP.

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Bachelors degree in business, IT or related field with advanced degree preferred.

Experience: Typically, 10 or more years of demonstrated experience in product management, business consulting & analysis, business process analysis and design. Product, business or engineering background is preferred. Experience working on an agile team leveraging product-centric principles and managing large, complex projects required.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proven understanding of a broad set of technologies and interactions impacting the end-to-end product. Deep understanding of insurance products and industry. Expert level understanding of agile planning and delivery methodologies in a product-centric operating model. Design thinking with an entrepreneurial mindset focused on leading with customer centricity. Command of both verbal and written communication and presentation abilities. Demonstrated ability to manage through change such as change in business model, restructuring operations, new technologies, mergers, major collaborations. Able to adapt to a fast-paced environment. Capable of negotiating and interacting with senior leadership, internal and external partners. Strategic problem solver with the ability to identify innovative and creative ways to bring customer experiences to life and solve key business problems. Ability to manage a budget and effectively prioritize.
