Job Description Summary

Our work to build and grow relationships with TPA’s across the country positions Nationwide’s retirement plan products for successful sales growth. As a TPA Senior National Account Manager, you'll build and cultivate relationships with leaders and associates at all levels across the spectrum at designated third party administrative firms. You will collaborate with key Nationwide Retirement Solutions leaders and develop strategic plans and tactical initiatives that advance Nationwide Financial as the partner of choice in select firms. We'll count on you to expand our relationships by uncovering opportunities for growth, creating the appropriate connections with client firms, gaining specific insights and access for NF sales and operations leaders and working to ensure the team is focused on the highest priority opportunities. This role will also be involved in the technical training of the tools and resources offered by Nationwide through the day-to-day interactions to enhance the experience.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a multi-year TPA strategic plan to achieve short and long term goals and objectives.

  • Analyze the TPA business based on experience to identify key areas to improve customer experience and opportunities for growth.

  • Work closely with associates across the organization to execute our TPA strategies, resolve escalated issues and maintain customer satisfaction.

  • Owns the account planning process for key third party administrative firms, and helps guide the organization in optimizing results.

  • Builds and maintains the appropriate relationships and communication protocols required for NF Leaders, colleagues and wholesalers to feel engaged, informed and on-board with third party administrative plans.

  • Collaborate with Marketing to improve TPA communications, create thought leadership and execute proactive marketing campaigns.

  • Finds appropriate opportunities to build brand and access wins for the RS team. Consistently adjusts and communicates broadly around priorities to ensure resources are used efficiently.

  • Conducts training on procedures, processes and services provided by the business unit.

  • Attends national, regional or local conferences as needed to promote relationships with assigned firms.

  • Monitor and influence TPA trends both at a macro level and firm level to understand and ensure Nationwide’s alignment with firm acquisitions, and ongoing technology and service needs.

  • Manage travel, entertainment and TPA budgets.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to the VP of Sales, Retirement Solutions Distribution

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Undergraduate degree in sales, marketing or related field preferred.

Licenses & Certifications: Series SIE, 6; industry designations preferred

Experience: 8-10 years in administration and the retirement plan space.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Technical knowledge of the administrative tools, resources and processes to manage and build TPA relationships.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and Human Resource Business Partner.
