Retirement Specialist
Nationwide
Virtual Retirement Specialist within the Retirement Resource Group supporting smaller governmental plans in Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
This role will be remote but will likely require some travel within the territory and will partner closely with both RRG and the local Retirement Specialist teams.
Overview
Support both plan sponsors and participants throughout the territory through virtual 1:1s, workshops, and webinars
Drive enrollment, renewals, and rollover sales within the territory
Cultivate and maintain relationships with key contacts in an effort to grow plan assets
Deliver impactful education and retirement planning through meetings, webinars, and seminars
Requirements
3–5 years in retirement planning, retirement solutions, or sales/relationship roles
FINRA Series 6, 63, and 65 or (7/66) licenses and resident life insurance license
A passion for education, strategic thinking, and helping others achieve financial confidence
Job Description Summary

If you can collaborate, connect and communicate to build, grow and retain important and productive business relationships, we want to know more about you!As a Retirement Specialist, you'll help drive sales growth by providing retirement planning and education while delivering service to plan participants. You will develop, manage and retain relationships with plan participants and have regular retirement education and planning interactions with them. You'll identify prospective new small case employer clients and take actions to acquire new small cases.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Develops positive relationships with key public sector employer entity contacts within assigned territory.
Schedules and conducts one-on-one and group seminars for potential and existing participants within an assigned territory.
Serves as a financial resource to existing and potential participants by providing counseling and guidance on the features and benefits of defined contribution retirement savings plans which drive sales growth.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Retirement Services Program Director; no direct reports.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate studies in related field, insurance, business, marketing preferred.
License/Certification/Designation: FINRA Series 6 license, and life and health licenses required. Series 63 and 65 may be necessary.
Experience: Three years of related experience in financial, sales or educational services functions.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Must have a deep understanding of the public sector business to apply knowledge of 457 plans, additional financial products and services to the business. Comprehension of annuity and investment products with the ability to effectively communicate product information. Understanding of the competitive landscape a plus. Excellent sales, communication and presentation skills required. Proven track record to maintain a territory of clients. Ability to work independently with little supervision.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
