You’ll be uniquely positioned to develop a deep understanding of the business, partner closely with leaders, and provide strategic advising on complex HR initiatives. You’ll work collaboratively and form relationships with your team, across HR and business functions, enabling you to be an informed and effective leader while having an opportunity to learn, use and grow a variety of skills, including strategic thought leadership, innovation, project management, analysis, organizational change and leader and associate development.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Leads a team of HR professionals, serving as a mentor, coach, and advisor.
Accountable for overall strategic HR partnership to top executives and all segments of a business/function. As a key member of the executive leadership team provides analysis, trending views, and insights into key programs, initiatives, and innovative solutions that positively impact the business. Provides critical thinking and thought leadership.
Creates and delivers people strategies and operational plans that help drive business results.
Collaborates with our Centers of Expertise to develop and/or deliver strategic HR initiatives that include: organizational planning, talent management, associate relations, organizational design, compensation, culture, diversity, executive development, and performance management to provide creative strategies and solutions for the business.
Assesses the business unit/function and provides solutions around culture, performance, leadership, diversity, equity, inclusion and other areas of overall effectiveness. Identifies and executes interventions, development, and feedback to improve leader effectiveness.
Provides guidance and strategies to improve organizational change readiness, agility, and effectiveness. Adheres to or develops new standard methodologies. Analyzes data and trends and recommends, develops, and delivers on plans to improve associate experiences, including retention, engagement, innovation, and culture.
Develops and delivers talent strategies to help meet current and future executive, leader, and associate skill and succession needs.
Supports compliance of all federal, state and local regulations, and safeguards the security and integrity of data including personal and confidential information.
Oversees people management including performance management, salary planning and administration, training and development, workflow and organization planning, day-to-day leadership, hiring and placement, and disciplinary actions for direct and possibly indirect reports.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Senior Vice President or Vice President of Human Resources. Manages a team of HR Generalists.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate degree in human resources, business administration or related field with Master’s degree preferred.
License/Certification/Designation: Professional human resources designation such as SPHR, PHR or other, preferred.
Experience: Ten or more years of years of Human Resources experience; preferably generalist experience. Generally, has in-depth experience in one or more HR technical areas. Experience managing a team.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Demonstrable knowledge of planning strategy, organizational development, HR practices, performance management, change management, associate relations, legal compliance, recruiting and one or more HR specialties. Very strong interpersonal, communication, collaborating, advising and problem-solving skills. Ability to lead project teams, set work priorities, analyze performance and retention issues analyze workforce metrics and data, and make recommendations and implement solutions.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and HR Business Partner.
