The leader of the Technology and Application Support (TAS) team within NF Shared Business Solutions directs a team that enables business operations through technology, onboarding coordination, and business-application support for partners across Annuity, Life, Retirement Solutions, and other back-office organizations. The team partners with business leaders, trainers, and IT to shape and support the technology experience for associates and contractors—from equipment and access setup to the use of specialized business applications—aligning solutions to evolving business needs. The team delivers high-touch support that absorbs technology change so NF associates can focus on serving clients rather than troubleshooting tools.

If you have confidence, the ability to make connections with people and use data to prioritize and make decisions, we want to know more about you!As a Manager, you’ll be responsible for living and leading the shared objectives that stretch across Business Support Services (BSS) that aid our business partners in achieving their desired outcomes. You’ll help lead the technology strategy while ensuring alignment across the team and the broader BSS organization. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for successfully managing and leading a team of Business Technology Solutions (BTS) professionals to drive efficiencies across NF. You will be accountable for leading technology solutions in partnership with our Nationwide Technology Partners.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Directs all activities and functions related to gathering, analyzing and interpreting sales, service and productivity management data in support of business and customer objectives.
Develops team strategy in support of the shared efforts of the organization. Oversees and supports all facets of projects. May also lead/perform Project Management functions for projects and may have accountability as a BSS Service owner.
Leads team responsible for business technology infrastructure to support business needs. Monitors benchmarks for accuracy and quality.
Presents meaningful recommendations, presentations, reports and documents to assist with understanding and applying data and leads team to leverage/implement technology to enable solving business issues.
Manages the working relationship with business partners by identifying solutions managed within team.
Participates and may lead Request for Proposal processes and/or Proof of Concept and/or Proof of Technology while identifying return on investment opportunities.
Collaborates with Nationwide Technology Partners to drive technology and innovation.
Accountable for all aspects of associate management including: performance management, salary planning and administration, training and development, workflow and organizational planning, hiring and placement and disciplinary actions.
Represents BTS Director in meetings, when necessary.
Leads and/or participates in Service level Operating Committees.
Collaborates with multiple internal partners, customer and vendor relationships.
May perform other duties as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Director and has direct reports.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate studies with post graduate studies preferred in Business administration, Computer science or related field.
Experience: Typically, eight or more years’ experience in data/process/database research, analysis support and problem solving.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Demonstrated knowledge and ability to lead large sophisticated technology projects and ability to understand and navigate organizational structures, roles, responsibilities, governance, staffing and sourcing. Demonstrated ability to align business technology vision/strategy to support organization-wide change. Proven experience leading others either formally or informally. Solid knowledge of business processes and of project management concept and techniques. Detailed understanding of new technologies and developments in the business technology capacities. Must have the ability to develop and apply innovative technology solutions to business problems and opportunities to meet business goals. Demonstrated ability to connect and effectively communicate to senior management. Must have the ability to lead effectively in an environment of change and ambiguity. Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with all levels within the company as well as external parties. Ability to identify and evaluate problems as well as resolve and execute an appropriate course of action. Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and handle multiple deliverables concurrently. Ability to excel in a fast-paced atmosphere, and ability to adapt to a constantly evolving environment.
