This position requires a strong specialization in Generative AI (GenAI), with a focus on applying large language models (LLMs), AI agents, and agentic workflows to drive innovation and operational efficiency across the insurance value chain.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Development

Architect, build, and deploy GenAI solutions—including LLMs, AI agents, and agentic systems—for use cases such as:

  • Document summarization and intelligent document processing
  • Synthetic data generation for model training and testing
  • Conversational AI for customer, agent-facing applications, and internal associates
  • Workflow automation and decision support systems

Business Collaboration

Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., underwriting, claims, legal, marketing) to identify high-impact opportunities for GenAI applications and translate business needs into scalable AI solutions.

Responsible AI & Governance

Champion responsible AI practices by ensuring transparency, fairness, and compliance with regulatory and ethical standards. Contribute to model governance frameworks and risk assessments.

Innovation & Thought Leadership

Stay abreast of the latest advancements in GenAI, LLMs, and agentic AI. Lead internal knowledge-sharing sessions, contribute to capability-building efforts, and mentor junior team members.

Experimentation & Evaluation

Conduct rapid prototyping, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and evaluation of GenAI models. Leverage A/B testing and human-in-the-loop feedback to iterate and improve model performance.

Additional Requirements

Experience

  • Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on experience with GenAI or LLMs

Technical Expertise

  • Proven experience building and deploying GenAI models, AI agents, or agentic workflows
  • Proficiency in prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and evaluation of LLMs (e.g., OpenAI, Claude, Mistral, LLaMA)
  • Strong foundation in NLP, deep learning, and generative modeling techniques
  • Familiarity with vector databases and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines
  • Experience with cloud platforms and MLOps best practices
  • Proficiency in Python and ML libraries (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Transformers, Scikit-learn)
  • Experience with containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and CI/CD for ML pipelines

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication and storytelling skills to convey complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment

As a Consultant, you’ll need to have a strong grasp of business objectives and work consultatively with business partners to develop solutions. You may work on multiple concurrent projects and often lead small teams of modelers. You’ll participate in all phases of the analytic lifecycle, from research design, data collection and data processing to model building, deployment and presentation of results. We’ll count on you to be fully proficient with advanced statistical and machine learning techniques and exhibit a deep knowledge of technical domains or modeling approaches.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the lead modeler on larger projects or works on concurrent projects that involve the design, development, implementation and monitoring of statistical and machine learning models.

  • Consults with business partners to understand, define and deliver work that meets their needs and delivers timely results.

  • Integrates relevant research findings to generate hypotheses and help business partners make informed decisions.

  • Applies knowledge of advanced quantitative techniques to analyze any given data structure.

  • Builds predictive and explanatory models to generate actionable insights and practical solutions to business problems.

  • Crafts results that provide clear and concise summaries of findings and recommendations using impactful storylines and data visualization geared to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Upholds a high standard for methodological rigor, sound statistical inference and robust model validation.

  • Identifies creative solutions to complex business problems of broad scope and business impact.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Senior Consultant, Director. This is an individual contributor role and may manage interns/GRAs as assigned.

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Preferred: Graduate studies in statistics, engineering, math, quantitative social science fields or related areas. Proven experience building and deploying machine learning and/or statistical models or executing quantitative research studies may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Experience: Typically, five or more years of related work experience in a relevant field.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
Quantitative judgment: Experience building and deploying machine learning and/or statistical models.

Research methods: Knowledge of multiple quantitative research and analysis approaches and their tradeoffs.

Programming ability: Python, R, SQL, or any other transferrable language (MATLAB, Java, etc.).

Communication skills: Ability to communicate predictive modeling with business partners to modeling experts. Capable of developing compelling stories and distinctive data visualizations.

Passion, inquisitiveness, creativity, self-starters and team builders.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the Vice President and HR Vice President.
