Consumer auto insurance is a competitive industry, providing world-class service and a seamless onboarding experience to consumers through agents and digital platforms is essential to grow successfully and profitably. This team lives at the heart of our promise to “unbreak” auto insurance and deliver that world-class experience. Our product analytics team works alongside product managers, engineers, data scientists, and external agency partnerships to improve efficient agency and partner growth at scale.
As a Senior Analyst, you will lead research on partnerships to ensure successful growth and unit economics. You are expected to be an independent thinker who seeks out opportunities and challenges Root’s current methods.
Root is a “work where it works best” company. Meaning we will support you working in whatever location that works best for you across the US. We will continue to have our headquarters in Columbus and offices in other locations to give more flexibility and more choice about how we live and work.
Salary Range: $101,000 - $125,000
How You Will Make an Impact
Work with product managers to prioritize roadmap initiatives and set team level OKRs
Build frameworks to measure profitability and growth of agents and other partnerships respective to OKRs
Iterate and maintain internal reporting and dashboarding for all agency partnerships
Build scalable processes to pay agent commissions accurately and timely each month
Provide weekly and monthly business updates to Senior leadership on agent and partner performance
Research overarching partnership growth opportunities and identify areas of opportunity for additional investment
Provide thought leadership around testing methodology and analytical tools leveraging data for operational excellence
Foster an attitude of ownership mentality across teams
What You Will Need to Succeed
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field
3+ years of analytics or data science experience in a business environment
2+ years of experience working in Commercial or Personal Auto Insurance analytics roles required
In-depth understanding of insurance pricing, underwriting, and unit economics
Top-notch storytelling skills and an ability to influence stakeholders
Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Relentless focus on business outcomes
Comfort in pushing the status quo and utilizing cutting edge analytical techniques
Thrives in a fast-paced work environment, prioritizing and executing on the most critical projects
Expert in SQL - able to write structured and efficient queries on large data sets
Superior teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
