The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Sr. Operations Analyst, Material Damage. As a Sr Operations Analyst - Material Damage, you’ll be asked to push the boundaries of what’s required and think critically to identify the learning needs of our customer facing teams and how to best align training, process, and quality assurance with our company values. By collaborating closely with adjusters, appraisers, leadership and other subject matter experts, you’ll make recommendations for solutions to develop the skills of our first line associates and iterate toward peak performance. You’ll be helping to build and enhance our training, process, and QA experience as this role is vital to Root’s success as we continue to grow and scale our operation. Our goal is to leverage technology, data, and a team of highly talented people to build a training experience recognized as # 1 in the industry.

Salary Range: $80,000 to $90,000

How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Facilitate entry-level training MD (APD, Total Loss, Salvage, Property, etc.) courses as assigned on topics for the claims organization. May include new-hire, refresher, or technical training, in addition to courses on required/mandated changes.

  • Work closely with our training team members and leaders to collaborate and decide optimal training for all our employees.

  • Develop working relationships with all subject matter experts to ensure current knowledge of systems / changes.

  • Interacts, communicates, and assists in leading trainees, peers, vendors, and managers with many initiatives.

  • Assists Operations Leadership with MD vendor management including but not limited to vendor audits, contract facilitation, and billing review/audit

  • Engages in learning opportunities to build knowledge of all training topics needed to move the organization forward.

  • Use various teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.

  • Schedule appropriate training sessions.

  • Make revisions to existing training materials and begin creating new training materials on required topics

  • Prepare training materials such as LMS courses, videos, and presentations

  • Works hand-in-hand with the claims process organization and MD leadership acting as the lead subject matter expert on all process matters relating to material damage.

  • Handles various MD related claims process tasks up to but not limited: building/updating process guides, assisting with CAT handling/leadership, assisting with MCE’s/DOI inquiries, IA/TPA assistance or training, managing MD vendor relationships, and assisting with any ad-hoc projects that come about in the organization.

  • Works closely with our Claims Audit & MD Leadership teams to build out, update, and complete MD related QA as determined by senior management.

  • Works closely with MD Leadership to serve as SME updating the appraisal console (labor rates, state regulations, parts usage/guidelines, etc.)

What You Will Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required

  • 3+ years of claims handling, 3+ years of appraising, and prior training or teaching experience a plus

  • Ability to build collaborative working relationships

  • Ability to present effectively in-person or via video conference

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • High sense of professionalism while remaining empathetic

  • Ability to handle ambiguity and quickly adapts when changes occur

  • Great attention to detail

  • Ability to approach problems with an open mind

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
