Our Marketing team manages all aspects of our direct to consumer marketing. Our efforts span Search Engine Marketing, Direct Mail, Vertical Search, Email retargeting, and other Mid to Upper Funnel initiatives. Our marketing strategy is built on a quantitative foundation with focus on rigorous experimentation and measurement. As such, marketing efforts are led by Data Science and Analytics. This team strives to ensure we attract high intent potential customers to achieve a favorable return on ad spend and company growth.

As an Analyst II, you’ll be responsible for conducting exploratory research, running marketing tests, analyzing new marketing campaigns, defining our customer attribution logic, reporting on overall marketing performance, forecasting future performance to facilitate financial forecasts, and introducing new metrics and reporting to shape how we measure our business. You’ll work closely with cross functional partners in Product, Data Science, and Engineering to ensure our business decisions and strategies are data driven and achieve optimal outcomes.

Root is a “work where it works best” company. Meaning we will support you working in whatever location that works best for you across the US. We will continue to have our headquarters in Columbus and offices in other locations to give more flexibility and more choice about how we live and work.

Salary Range: $94,000 - $105,000

How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Lead exploratory research to identify opportunities to improve business outcomes

  • Conduct experiments (including AB tests) that maximize learnings for new marketing initiatives

  • Maintain a suite of business intelligence frameworks and dashboards to unlock actionable business insights

  • Analyze overall marketing performance to identify trends, anomalies, or other potentially actionable insights

  • Identify opportunities to improve analytical methodologies or introduce new techniques to improve analytical deliverables

  • Build strong relationships with cross functional partners to maintain alignment and awareness across initiatives

What You Will Need to Succeed

  • 1+ years of work experience in analytics (prior marketing experience highly preferred)

  • Proficiency with SQL and BI software (Tableau, Mode, Power BI, etc.)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, or another quantitative field

  • Superior problem-solving skills with ability to think strategically and innovatively

  • Exceptional written and oral communication

  • Detail oriented; able to effectively balance ad hoc requests with long-term R&D; consistently maintains rigorous documentation

  • Roll-up-the sleeves work ethic and “do-what-it takes” attitude to efficiently execute and drive results in a fast-paced work environment
