The Opportunity
The UX team at Root is a tight knit, collaborative group with a mission to deliver innovation and customer value. This team sits within the Product & Marketing organization and works closely with product managers, engineers, and product executives to plan and deliver new product features and experiments.
The unique opportunity of this role is to bring fresh, creative, novel thinking to an antiquated system: insurance. It’s really hard to build great products in auto insurance–take a look at your own company’s app and you’ll see for yourself. When was the last time you thought about your insurance company? To what extent do you expect or want to be delighted when you open your insurance app to pay your bill, or access your insurance card? These are the types of questions we are wrestling with, and the status quo we are missioned with disrupting.
In this role, you will join a growing team of UX experts, including four designers, two researchers, and a writer. You will work closely with product managers, engineers, analytics, and UX researchers to define creative, elegant solutions to complex problems. You will succeed in this role if you are a first rate product designer who isn’t afraid to flex into problem definition, customer research, and writing. You will help our team level up our product and reinvent insurance by rigorously and creatively advocating for doing the right thing, elegantly.
Root is a “work where it works best” company. Meaning we will support you working in whatever location that works best for you across the US.
Salary Range: $95,000 - $130,000
