The Accounting Specialist will have overall responsibility for ensuring the timely closing of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities and preparation of the financial statements. The Accounting Specialist is expected to collaborate closely with leadership to help them understand the financial performance of their teams and the company overall.

The right candidate for this position is results-oriented, has a high level of energy, has high attention to detail, and can communicate clearly and concisely.

A hybrid work arrangement is preferred, but we are open to considering qualified remote candidates based on location and suitability for the role.

Job Description:

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the daily accounting functions for SAAS business, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Cash Management, Invoicing, Revenue Recognition and Expense Report processing.
  • Create, review, and record journal entries and monthly reconciliations.
  • Manage intercompany transactions with other related corporate entities.
  • Work with the company leadership to finalize, deliver, and present the company's quarterly forecasts, with a goal of +/- 5% forecast accuracy.
  • Review, adjust and maintain a strong Finance internal control environment.
  • Complete monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual sales-and-use tax or business tax filings, as well as periodic Secretary of State filings in the US.
  • Oversee the company treasury and cash forecasting process.
  • Assistance to and ad-hoc assignments from company leadership.
  • Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work and can be trusted to prioritize independently.
  • Ensure compliance with necessary accounting principles (US GAAP, IFRS, etc.).
  • Some travel may be required. Candidate must be able to travel globally.

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent organization, communication, time management, prioritization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are required.
  • Adaptable and flexible to changing demands in a growing business.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience at a private or public company and/or in public accounting audit is required.
  • An accounting diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP for Software Revenue is a plus, as well as an understanding of IFRS 15 and 16.
  • History of developing and improving internal controls is desired.
  • Experience with financial statements, financial analysis, and audits is a plus.
  • Experience with systems such as Great Plains, Dynamics, NetSuite, QuickBooks, Blackline , and HubSpot desired.
