Cancer Research Navigator, Clinical Trials Unit (Hybrid)

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Research Navigator will provide one on one guidance, support, education, referrals, coordination of research trials to patients. Coordinate office projects and data management and provide office administrative support.
- Meets with patient to discuss and educate about clinical research. Implements delegated portions of research care plans, coordinating the logistics for adherence, reminders, transportation, etc.
- Documents and monitors compliance with research protocols, including adherence, barriers encountered, resources accessed, successes, and outcomes.
- Serves as a resource for patients and families for research questions and connects them to the appropriate disease teams. Provides information referrals in a courteous, accurate and timely manner.
- Conducts follow up calls based on clinical trial referras. Keeps accurate records and data on research patients, services, participation and outcome.
- Develops collaborative relationships with physicians, nurses, and other stakeholders. Research Navigation utilization documentation. New projects as they evolve.
- Develop, implement and assess services and program evaluation tools for navigation effectiveness. Implement computerized track system to measure outcomes. Develop and implement metrics for referrals from UH research sites.
- Develop clinical trial patient education materials. Community outreach. Designs program evaluations and data collection needs.
- Collects and analyze data on services and satisfaction.
- Compiles data on research patient referral , screening, enrollment , outcomes and creates a report.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors Degree required.
- Certification in human subjects protection must be obtained within 3 months of hire.
- Experience working with an urban, minority population around issues of healthcare access, adherence.
- Knowledge of healthcare resources, benefits, entitlements in the greater Cleveland area.
- Experience in a healthcare system preferred.
- Experience in data collection, problem identification, reporting, record keeping
