The Opportunity

WillowTree is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Adobe Commerce to help build and manage B2B and B2C eCommerce web applications. This position will help define the architectural strategy and contribute primary development work for our clients’ web app platforms, creating modules, modifying extensions, evaluating site performance, and managing security and feature upgrades. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-growing company, is adaptable to new technologies, and is passionate about creating the best software and UX on the market.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the development and implementation on B2B and B2C web application projects using Magento and Adobe Commerce
  • Work with other developers and designers to build applications consistent with product roadmaps and customer requirements
  • Developing and testing Magento modules
  • Reviewing and troubleshooting any integration issues
  • Installing and updating security patches
  • Keeping up-to-date with PHP best practices
  • Optimizing website’s loading time and performance
  • Installing, configuring, and testing payment plugins
  • Customizing website extensions and testing their functionality

Qualifications/Skills

  • 8+ years of experience in Web development or software engineering
  • 3+ years of production experience with Magento eCommerce sites
  • Active Adobe Commerce and/or Adobe Magento certification
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Experience with Git
  • Experience working with modern DevOps pipeline
  • Expert level knowledge of PHP
  • Expert level knowledge of JavaScript and front-end application logic
  • Experience working with JavaScript frameworks (but not reliant on them for building innovative solutions)
  • Expert level knowledge of HTML and CSS and all aspects of cross-platform browser development
  • Proven experience connecting front-end clients with back-end web services and databases
  • Savvy understanding of UI/UX principles
