Location and Flexibility

To retain our deep culture of collaboration, both among ourselves and with our clients, this role will work in a Work From Near (Hybrid) capacity based out of one of our WillowTree offices (Boston, MA, Charlottesville, VA, Columbus, OH, Durham, NC; Vancouver, BC).

The Opportunity

As a Senior Business Consultant, you will be a pivotal advisor to Fortune 500 executives, guiding them through their most complex business challenges with a digital lens. Operating at the intersection of business strategy, financial viability, and technological innovation, you will help clients make high-stakes decisions and navigate the complexities of digital transformation. You are the strategic advisor who frames a client's most critical choices, shaping their digital future by delivering the rigorous analysis and compelling business cases that drive high-stakes investment and strategy decisions.

Responsibilities

Frame and Structure Complex Problems: Define and structure clients' most ambiguous and critical business challenges, developing hypotheses to guide engagement activities and analysis.

Deliver C-Suite Recommendations: Lead the development and delivery of clear, compelling recommendations to senior executives, influencing high-stakes decisions on investment, market entry, and operational strategy.

Conduct Rigorous Analysis: Perform comprehensive qualitative and quantitative analysis—including market sizing, competitive assessments, and operational modeling—to uncover the insights that underpin strategic choices.

Build Investment-Grade Business Cases: Create robust financial models and business cases that articulate the value, risks, and financial impact of strategic initiatives, providing a clear rationale for executive decision-making.

Act as a Trusted Advisor: Cultivate deep, trust-based relationships with senior client stakeholders, becoming their go-to partner for navigating the intersection of business, technology, and finance.

Facilitate Executive Alignment: Design and lead high-impact workshops and working sessions with senior leadership teams to build consensus and drive strategic clarity.

Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams of product strategists, designers, and engineers to ensure recommendations are not only strategically sound but also feasible and desirable.

Advance the Practice: Contribute to the growth of the strategy practice by developing thought leadership, refining proprietary frameworks, and mentoring team members.

Qualifications/Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, or a similar strategic advisory role, preferably with a focus on digital products or transformation.
  • Experience advising C-level and VP-level executives on complex business initiatives.
  • Deep expertise in strategic frameworks and both quantitative and qualitative analysis, with a demonstrated ability to synthesize disparate information into a clear, compelling narrative.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience building sophisticated business cases and models to support and validate strategic recommendations with Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel and financial modeling software
  • Adept storyteller with the ability to deliver compelling presentations to various (seniorities and/or disciplines) client audiences
  • Can operate successfully in both independent work and as a part of a team
  • Ability to travel as required for client engagements (typically 10-15%).

Bonus Points:

  • MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience within our key client verticals, such as financial services, media, or hospitality.
  • Familiarity with product management methodologies and human-centered design principles.

Annual Salary Range

$140,000 - $160,000
