Position Summary

The Parallax Advanced Research Mission is to deliver innovative research and provide technology, human and business solutions via The Science of Intelligent Teaming™ for government, industry and academic clients with critical challenges.
The Research Intelligence Analyst supports this mission through GEOINT, All-Source and Multi-INT analysis to advance next-generation intelligence capabilities for the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and other Department of War (DoW) and Intelligence Community (IC) partners. The analyst executes projects with government sponsors to advance future intelligence capabilities for DoW customers. This role combines operational intelligence tradecraft with research and development to evaluate emerging analytical methodologies, AI-enabled capabilities, and data-driven technologies that improve intelligence production and decision advantage.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Intelligence Analysis and Research - Percent of time spent in this function: 30%
The Research Intelligence Analyst is responsible for GEOINT, All-Source, and Multi-INT analysis to support IC and DoW research initiatives, operational challenges, and the development of innovative analytical techniques, concepts, and use cases. Analyze complex intelligence datasets to identify patterns, trends, and operational insights, applying structured analytic techniques, critical thinking, and intelligence tradecraft to produce timely assessments and actionable recommendations that enhance intelligence production and inform customer decision-making.
Advanced Analytics, AI, & Automation - Percent of time spent in this function: 25%
Evaluate emerging technologies, including automation, machine learning, LLMs, and data science, to enhance intelligence analysis and decision support. Collaborate with technical teams to develop AI-enabled workflows, assess automated analytical outputs, and recommend improvements that enhance analyst efficiency and operational effectiveness.
Research & Prototype Development Support - Percent of time spent in this function: 20%
Collaborate with software developers, data scientists, and government stakeholders to evaluate emerging intelligence capabilities and support Agile development through operational testing, user validation, and analyst-driven requirements. Develop intelligence use cases & workflows and participate in customer engagements and technical exchanges to ensure capabilities meet DoW and Intelligence Community (IC) mission needs.
Data Validation & Intelligence Quality - Percent of time spent in this function: 15%
Perform intelligence data validation, ground-truth development, and quality assurance to support research and development efforts. Evaluate automated detections, analytical outputs, and intelligence datasets for operational accuracy and mission relevance, documenting findings and recommending improvements to enhance analytical methodologies and intelligence products.
Communication & Customer Engagement - Percent of time spent in this function: 10%
Prepare and present intelligence products, technical reports, briefings, and research findings for government sponsors and leadership. Engage with DoW and IC stakeholders to define mission requirements, support capability development, and contribute to proposals, strategic planning, and future intelligence initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Minimum of 4 years of experience conducting GEOINT, All-Source, Multi-INT, or ISR analysis supporting DoW or IC missions.
• Experience conducting intelligence research, analysis, and producing written intelligence assessments and briefings.
• Demonstrated knowledge of intelligence tradecraft, structured analytic techniques, and critical thinking methodologies.
• Ability to analyze complex, ambiguous, and high-volume intelligence datasets and communicate findings effectively.
• Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary teams, including analysts, software developers, data scientists, and government stakeholders.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance with SCI eligibility.

Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Preferred four or more years supporting AFRL, NASIC, NGA, DIA, USAF, or other DoW organizations.
• Bachelor's degree in Intelligence Studies, International Relations, Geosciences, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
• Experience integrating GEOINT with other intelligence disciplines, including SIGINT, MASINT, OSINT, or other Multi-INT sources.
• Experience supporting research and development, prototype evaluation, user acceptance testing, or operational capability assessments.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled analytical workflows, machine learning applications, Large Language Models (LLMs), or data science techniques supporting intelligence analysis.
• Experience developing intelligence use cases, analyst workflows, operational requirements, or Concepts of Operation (CONOPS).
• Proficiency with intelligence analysis and geospatial tools such as ArcGIS, MIST, Thresher, ChatSurfer, or comparable IC analytical platforms.
• Interest in applying or evaluating LLMs for intelligence analysis and analytical workflows.
